Under Tennessee Law, the following facilities are Safe Havens for newborn babies:
- Hospitals
- Birthing Centers
- Community Health Clinics
- Outpatient, walk-in clinics
- Emergency Medical Service Facilities
- Fire Stations (only those staffed 24 hours)
- Police Stations (only those staffed 24 hours)

Volunteers or Interested Tennessee Residents
A Secret Safe Place for Newborns of Tennessee works to raise awareness of the Safe Haven Law and educate young women across the state. If you are interested in helping us reach young women, please feel free to print and distribute the following materials in your community. For more specific information on how you can help, please complete the form below, and include all information.
Note: We are not an adoption agency. Our role is to educate the public about Tennessee’s Safe Haven Law. For information on adoption of Safe Haven babies, please contact the Department of Children’s Services at 1-877-DCS-KIDS (327-5437) or visit their web site.
