Motorcycle Ride Updates
Update #6
June 14, 2026
We attended the worship service at Antigonish Baptist Church
(Nova Scotia) this morning, then rode to see the lighthouse at Cape
George.
After riding all afternoon on the coastal roads of Cape
Breton and enjoying the beautiful scenic coastline, we landed in Sydney, NS for
the night.
We will board the ferry for Newfoundland tomorrow
morning.

Update #5
June 13, 2026
Today brought our first encounter with rain on this journey
as we made our way back from the iconic Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia. While
there, we had a wonderful surprise as we connected with our Canadian biker
friends from Calgary, Serge and Tara Comeau. They will be joining us on the
next leg of our adventure—traveling with us on four wheels, as they were unable
to find a suitable motorcycle rental in the area. We are looking forward to
touring Newfoundland together!
We are so grateful for the prayers and encouragement of
family and friends. We are truly counting on them as we continue this journey!

Update #4
June 12, 2026
Yesterday morning, we said goodbye to our biking
buddies—Tom, Debbie, Mike, and Sonya—as they began their journey south toward
home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time riding together and making memories over the past several days.
As we continued north through Maine, we passed a beautiful
waterfall cascading through the heart of the historic town of Rumford. It was a
picturesque stop along the way.
A little later, I thought Charlie had taken a serious wrong
turn when I saw a "Welcome to Mexico" sign! Fortunately, we were
still in Maine—specifically, the town of Mexico, Maine.
We continued our journey north, making a special detour to
Helen's Restaurant in Machias, Maine, to enjoy a slice of their famous homemade
wild Maine blueberry pie and some delicious chocolate cake. We had visited
Helen's during our 2021 motorcycle trip to Maine and couldn't resist stopping
again.
Another worthwhile detour took us to one of our favorite
lighthouses, Quoddy Head Light, located at the easternmost point of the U.S.
mainland. Unfortunately, marine fog had rolled in from the Atlantic Ocean,
limiting our view, but we still enjoyed seeing the rugged rocky coastline and
revisiting this special place.
Shortly afterward, we crossed the Canadian border and
continued on to our hotel in St. George, New Brunswick.
We are thankful for another safe and beautiful day on the
road and for God's continued protection throughout this journey.

Update #3
June 10, 2026
Tuesday, we traveled along the beautiful backroads of Vermont to visit the world's longest two-way covered bridge. Spanning the Connecticut River, the bridge connects Cornish, New Hampshire, and Windsor, Vermont, and was a remarkable sight to see.
The highlight of the day was "climbing" Mt. Washington near Gorham, New Hampshire. Standing at 6,288 feet above sea level, the summit offered incredible views and a memorable experience. The mountain photos show us at the top and beginning our descent down the mountain.
Today (Wednesday), we enjoyed a short "shamrock" ride after breakfast before hiking to the beautiful Glen Ellis Falls near Gorham. The afternoon provided a welcome opportunity to rest, catch up on laundry, and enjoy a much-needed nap.
Tomorrow morning, we will part ways with our riding companions, Tom and Debbie Barnard and Mike and Sonya Hosick. We will continue north toward New Brunswick while they begin their journey south toward home. We have been blessed with four days of beautiful weather and have thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship, laughter, and adventure shared with these wonderful friends.
As always, we are grateful for God's protection, provision, and countless blessings along the way.

Update #2
June 8, 2026
We had a wonderful day today, beginning with a delicious breakfast at the Ampersand B&B, hosted by the delightful and entertaining owner, Irene. Our photo with her follows this update.
We then enjoyed a scheduled tour of West Point with Claudia, a good friend of Lyn Eagen, SSPTN Board Chair. It was a fascinating tour of this historic military academy and an unforgettable experience. Many thanks to Lyn for arranging this special opportunity for us!
God blessed us with another beautiful and safe day of riding as we traveled the scenic backroads of New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, and New York. Along the way, we enjoyed breathtaking views of farms, small towns, boroughs, mountains, and rivers that showcased the beauty of our country.
Tonight, we have settled in for the evening in Bennington, Vermont, grateful for another day of adventure, fellowship, and safe travels.

Update #1
June 7, 2026
We've been blessed with two beautiful days of riding through Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Joining us on this leg of the journey are Charlie's brother, Tom, and his wife, Debbie, along with Mike and Sonya Hosick.
The photos below capture a few special moments from the trip so far, including:
- Friends who followed us to Buc-ee's after Saturday's send-off
- Our daughter, granddaughters, and their friend Caylee waving goodbye
- Celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary at Olive Garden
- A beautiful view of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
We are incredibly grateful for the team who worked so hard to make Saturday's send-off a success.
Most importantly, we appreciate the prayers, encouragement, and support from our family and friends. Your kindness means more than words can express.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue this journey and make our way safely home on June 27.
