Final Update
June 26, 2026
After leaving Canada, we had sunny days of riding through the backroads and beautiful countrysides of many New England states!
Our last night on the road was spent with sweet friends, Paul and Donna Albright, in their new home in Millersville, PA.
We were ready to be home, so we left Millersville early this morning(Friday), pushed hard all day, and rode 600 miles so we could sleep in our own bed tonight. We rode a total of $5,080 miles!!!
It was a wonderful journey to and from Newfoundland—-and a successful fundraiser for Secret Safe Place!
We are VERY grateful for all who prayed for us during our travels, and greatly appreciate the SSP team who worked tirelessly to make this ride a success!
A special thanks to all who donated and gave generously to this very worthy ministry!

We traveled all day Saturday to once again board the ferry and sail back to Canada’s mainland. Once our feet were back on the ground Sunday, we had to say goodbye to our sweet and fun Canadian friends, then we headed south for home.
We had a gorgeous day of riding through New Brunswick where we FINALLY saw our first real moose!! But we were going too fast for me to get a picture of it!
Tonight we are staying in New Brunswick, and will ride across the border tomorrow into our wonderful US of A!!

Today was spent hibernating in our cottage while it rained ALL DAY!!
But we were actually looking forward to having a day off from riding—besides, we had explored most of the local scenes as well as the National Park. Our friends returned from “the north,” stating the weather there was very cold and damp, so we were glad we chose to stay in Deer Lake.
In the morning, we plan to head back to Port aux Basques to catch the ferry back to Nova Scotia.
We have had a fantastic adventure here in Newfoundland, and especially glad to share much of it with our Canadian friends.
Please keep those prayers coming…we have 8 more days before returning home!

Today we enjoyed something that we have not had since arriving to Newfoundland—-sunny, blue skies, and 70°! Hurray!!
We took a 5-mile hike to the Western Brook Pond (the word pond is used for anybody of water here in NFLD), expecting to see the massive canyons carved by glaciers and rivers. When we reached the river's edge, we discovered that seeing the best part of the canyon required paying for a boat ride (boat in photo). We did not have a reservation, so we just enjoyed the hike and the scenery along the way.
We are, once again, thankful for a safe and enjoyable day, and for the prayers that are still covering us! Blessings!

Another scenic day in Gros Morne NP—so much to see! We visited the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse—our photo is the view from the lighthouse…beautiful cloud-covered mountains flowing into the ocean!
In addition to riding the coastal roads and enjoying the scenic views, we also took a short hike to see the Southeast Brook Falls—also beautiful!
Thankful for no rain, though still chilly.
Our 4 car-traveling Canadian friends have journeyed 5 hours northward without us—a cold rain system is predicted there over the next 3 days. So Charlie and I decided to stay south of that “unfriendly to motorcyclists” weather and ride “shamrocks” from our cottage in the town of Deer Lake. Our friends will rejoin us on Friday evening.
We deeply appreciate all those who are praying for us!

Today we visited Gros Morne National Park and took a chilly, windy hike to see the snowfields and waterfall. All photos are inside the park. No moose sightings thus far (sigh)! Our other Canadian friends, Shelly and Henry, joined our traveling crew at the ferry ride and will be with us throughout our Newfoundland journey.

GREETINGS FROM NEWFOUNDLAND!!
We made it!!
The 8-hour ferry ride from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland was very smooth! After disembarking, we rode two hours to our hotel in Stephenville. Along the way, we saw clouds moving down the mountains like an avalanche, as well as many rivers, streams, and occasional views of the ocean. Though repeatedly cautioned to “watch out for moose”, we did not see any… nor any other wildlife for that matter! (Sigh) It’s cloudy and chilly here, but thankfully no rain!
We are thankful for another safe day of travel, and the continued prayers of family and friends!
